According to Vebada Jahrom, Dr. Mohammad Rahmanian, the president of the university, referring to the decrease in the age of people suffering from chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes, said: improper eating patterns, inactivity, overweight and smoking are among the reasons that caused the age of the disease. These two chronic diseases can be reduced and become common in young people.
He stated that prevention is the best way to deal with diabetes and high blood pressure, which if not controlled, will lead to various complications such as cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases, eye complications and even damage to peripheral nerves.
Dr. Rahmanian emphasized that at the request of the Ministry of Health, this national campaign will be carried out in order to improve people's health and prevent irreversible complications of these two diseases. Jahrom University of Medical Sciences, along with other universities, is trying to implement this national campaign and will implement it simultaneously with the whole country in December of this year.
Dr. Mohammad Jafar Mohebi, vice president of health of the university, also said in this meeting: the age group of 18 years and above and pregnant mothers are among the target groups of this national health campaign. Unfortunately, in society, people suffer from diabetes and high blood pressure, which prevention is another goal of this health campaign.
In this meeting, the necessary arrangements were made to set up screening tables in health centers at the city and village level to screen these two chronic diseases for the target group. This national health campaign started on the 1st of December 1402 in the country and continues until the 15th of January.
